5 Things People Get Wrong About Cats

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

  1. Water

People often think cats hate water but that’s not true. Even though they don’t always necissarilly love it they just don’t like being forced into water. Cats come from dry climates and aren’t used to it.

2. Shedding

People think some cat breeds don’t shed at all but that’s not true. While, true, they don’t shed as much they do shed a little. Breeds like the Sphynx, Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, Russian Blue, Bengal and Siamese don’t shed as much but do shed very little. They are better however to people who are allergic to cats.

3. Black Cats

People think that black cats are unlucky and bad to be around but that’s not true. Medival superstitions saw that bad things happened while black cats were around and started blaming them for “witchery”. In fact most people believe them and don’t purchase black cats. 76% of black cats don’t get adopted and stay homeless in shelters or no shelters at all.

4. Cats Have 9 Lives

Cats don’t have 9 lives. It’s like saying when you’re cat dies it comes back to life. But that never happens. People think that because of cats incredible agility, reflexes and natural survival instincts that cats live over and over again.

5. Cats Like To Be Left By Themselves

This is one of the biggest lies. Cats do not like to be left alone. True your cat won’t give you as much attention as let’s say: a dog. But they do not like to be left alone. Without humans they often get sad or lonely. Leading to them to tearing apart whatever is in their reach (pretty much everything).
