All About Maine Coon Cats

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”: — Charles R. Swindoll

These cats are one of the closer species to the wild cats and they have very pointy ears compared to other cats. They are also VERY big and can grow up to astounding sizes. They range from 10-25 pounds (10-15 for female and 15-25 for male). Some Maine Coon cats have been recorded to be 3-4 feet long! The largest Maine Coon was 48.5 inches (1.2 meters long) if you don’t know how big that is it’s about 4 feet.

Maine coon’s have a thick glossy coat that can protect them from the rain and harmful weather. They are one of the most tolerant cat breeds. They are also an outside cat species so the thick coat of theirs comes in handy!

The average life span for a Maine Coon is 9-15 years.
