- Norwegian Forest Cat
Even though this cat is a mouthful to say this cat loves the outdoors and is top recommended by hikers and outdoor people
2. Maine Coon
This cat loves hiking and just being outdoors in general. This cat is also friendly and isn’t super loud like other cats another top recommended
3. Manx
It may not be as much of an outdoor cat but it is very tough (even with a stubby tail) and can adapt to anything from car rides to hikes
4. American Shorthair
This cat is one of my personal favorites and is originally from Europe. This cat is very independent and muscular which is perfect for catching mice (what they’re known for) however it is not recommended to keep them outside for a long period of time
